A Rare Author of Exceptional Clarity  April 4, 2011

Having used another stat textbook before, I feel that this book does a great job of breaking down the procedures step by step. I find the flow charts to be an invaluable help to understanding the subject. Having taken statistics for a total of 3 times, once in another textbook and twice in this particular one, I have found that the difficulty of the material greatly depends on the professor. The only problems that have occurred using this textbook is in the rounding of numbers. Either the author is not following his own rules or the writers of the sample problems do not follow the author's rules. Possibly the rounding rules need more clarification in future editions.

Poor Stat Book  September 8, 2010

As a grad student at yale, I found this intro to stats book a little demeaning to those who have devoted their live to the awesome world of statistics. While this textbook is supposedly "the leader in elementary stats", I was disappointed. The author is more concerned with writing prose and not focused on actual math.
