The author covers all the topics related to enterprise application development, including, as well, the necessary background to develop web services. This is an excellent textbook to learn all aspects of EJB 3 and also to be used as a reference. I highly recommend this textbook to the Java professional who is already familiar with developing business solutions.

As Senior Software Engineer at JBoss, a Division of Red Hat, Andrew Lee Rubinger is primarily responsible for development of the company's EJB 3.x implementation. He was an early adopter of JEE technologies and an active contributor in the tech community.

Richard Monson-Haefel is the author of Enterprise JavaBeans (Editions 1 - 5), Java Message Service, and one of the world's leading experts and authors on enterprise computing. He was the lead architect of OpenEJB, and was actively involved in the EJB professional community as an expert and industry analyst. Richard is currently the VP of Developer Relations for Curl, Inc. a RIA platform used in enterprise computing.
