About the Author
Karen A. Mingst is Lockwood Chair Professor at the Paterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce at the University of Kentucky. A specialist in international organization, international law, and international political economy, Professor Mingst has written a number of books and articles and has conducted research in Western Europe, West Africa, and Yugoslavia. She has frequently taught the introductory international relations course.
Jack L. Snyder is Robert and Renée Belfer Professor of International Relations at Columbia University, writes on international security, international relations theory, and post-Soviet affairs, and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on nationalism, comparative methods, and grand strategy. His books include The Ideology of the Offensive (Cornell University Press, 1984) and Myths of Empire (Cornell, 1991). He is the General Editor of the Norton Series in World Politics.
