Summary

“Did I sound stupid?” “Should I have sent that email?” “Am I attractive enough?” Many of us spend a lot of time feeling self-conscious and comparing ourselves to others. Why do we judge ourselves so relentlessly? When psychologist and mindfulness expert Ronald Siegel realized that he, too, was caught in a cycle of endless self-evaluation, he decided to do something about it. In this engaging, empowering guide, he shares his journey to understand this very human habit--and how to break it. Through mindfulness meditations, enlightening exercises, and moving, often funny stories, Dr. Siegel invites readers to stop obsessing about how they measure up. By accepting the gift of being ordinary, people can build stronger connections with others, and get more joy out of life.
