Author Biography

Melvin BlackMan has worked professionally in the ôSubstance Abuseö field counseling and lecturing drug abusers. As a recovering addict, himself, who has been clean since March 7, 1986 Mr. BlackMan has dedicated his life to helping members of the community to help themselves. His unconventional dialogue and approach through various speaking engagements and his personally written pamphlets have brought him to the attention of several agencies, such as: the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (OASAS), NYPD and the New York State Department of Correctional Services. Mr. BlackMan has earned numerous CASAC Certificates in conventional drug rehabilitation training.
