This is the third edition of the Handbook of Animal Assisted Therapy, covering research and applications of animal assisted therapy. The third edition has eliminated four chapters, added five new chapters, and is heavily revised in chapters carrying over from the second edition. Overall, the third edition is 63% new material, including added coverage on use of animal therapy in counseling settings, with at risk youth, what therapists need to know about animal behavior, and helping clients deal with the loss of a pet.
