Summary

On April 20, 1945, Hitler turned 56 years old, and the Russian artillery surrounded Berlin. Every house, street, and neighborhood tried to impede the enemy’s advance. The events that preceded Berlin’s fall are compiled through the stories in this book. The stories depict both the savage fanaticism of the forces as well as humanity’s ability to endure even the most insufferable circumstances.
