"Nutrition: Concepts and Controversies is a simplified approach for beginners just stepping into the educational realm of this topic. Many things are broken down into their simplest forms for digestion. While this may seem atrocious at first, it's a wonderful angle to take for professors who want to ensure their students are getting all the needed foundational information to advance further in this field. Expect to walk away with a better understanding of physiology and biochemistry, as well as the ability to meaningfully read more advanced books on this subject matter. It's a great introduction to the field and is included amongst many professors required reads."

"The book covers several nutritional issues and serves as a useful guide for health-conscious people. The book covers the science of nutrition in a practical and user-friendly manner. The writing style is simple, yet effective in explaining important nutritional concepts and some nutritional misconceptions. It encourages the reader to practice good nutrition habits, and a healthy lifestyle. It is a book that is well-written, informative and easy to read. It is also useful as a nutritional and lifestyle reference. I would recommend for anyone interested in learning some nutritional basics, without complicated language or difficult concepts. I particularly like the simplicity of the book."
