This brief textbook traces the dynamics of the policy-making process, such as the triggering of issue awareness and the implementation process that translates policy into practice. It contains examples from recent and historic cases of public policy-making. I enjoyed reading this textbook; it is an excellent and cheap resource.

Author Biography

Larry N. Gerston is professor of political science at San Jose State University and the author or co-author of many books on state and national policy making. Since 1980 he has been the political analyst at television station NBC11 in the San Francisco Bay Area.
