Qajar Iran and the Rise of Reza Khan 1796-1925, provides a brief but comprehensive history of this period, encompassing the whole rule of the Qajar dynasty and the rise to power of Reza Khan until he had the Qajars deposed. Nikki R. Keddie is Professor Emerita of History at UCLA and fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
