Author Biography

Together with husband David, collectively known as Americaís First Couple of Do-It-Yourself Building Projects. Jeanie Stiles has written 13 books on woodworking, which include Storey's Garden Retreats and the popular Rustic Retreats. Combined, these 13 books have sold nearly 300,000 copies. Additionally, Jeanie's articles have appeared in publications such as Better Homes & Gardens, House Beautiful, Country Living, Cottage Life, and the New York Times Magazine.

David Stiles earned a bachelor degree in industrial design from Pratt Institute, and is a designer, builder, architectural renderer, and writer and illustrator. Together with wife Jeanie, collectively known as Americaís First Couple of Do-It-Yourself Building Projects. David has written 13 books on woodworking, which include Storey's Garden Retreats and the popular Rustic Retreats. Combined, these 13 books have sold nearly 300,000 copies. Additionally, David's articles have appeared in publications such as Better Homes & Gardens, House Beautiful, Country Living, Cottage Life, and the New York Times Magazine. He is a member of the Friends of the Society of Illustrators.
