In our journey to grow as a Christian, the question we often ask is, “What am I supposed to do?” The question we need to be asking is, “What kind of person do I need to become?”

Spoiler: God isn’t hiding the answer. God wants us to know who He is, who we are now, and who He wants us to become in life. He's not waiting for a future version of you to love, but he does have a future version of you in mind. And contrary to a culture that wants decades of change in a matter of weeks, that future version of you takes a lifetime to grow—much like a tree.

Mason King serves as the Executive Director over Groups and Care at The Village Church Institute in Flower Mound, Texas. He is currently completing D. Ed. Min. work in Executive Leadership from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
